Calls for justice 30 years after Israeli-led atrocity in Lebanon

19 Sep

Press TV, 18 September 2012. Mariam Saleh reports from Beirut on the 30th anniversary remembrance of the Sabra and Shatila massacres in Lebanon. The two camps were surrounded by the Israeli military, then pro-Israeli Lebanese militiamen were sent in to knife and shoot the refugees, often first raping women in front of their kids. Over 3,000 Palestinians were killed, including huge numbers of women and children. Three decades on, not a single Israeli mititaryman or politician has been put on trial for organising these atrocities in September 1982, nor have any of their Lebanese agents. Even so, the calls for justice by Palestinians and their sympathisers continue to ring out loud.
