The Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas announced another reconciliation deal recently.

Previous reconciliation agreements between the two groups have never been implemented.

The deal comes amid troubled negotiations between the Palestinian Authority and the Israeli regime.

Following the announcement of the reconciliation deal, Israel said it would not attend the next sessions of the talks.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that the Palestinian Authority would have to choose between ‘peace with Israel’ and peace with Hamas.

The two factions are expected to form a unity government in the coming weeks.
