NATION-WIDE ‘DAY OF ACTION’ AGAINST ISRAEL’S WAR ON GAZA & FOR FREE PALESTINE

THIS SATURDAY 16 AUGUST

Here are the Faceook Events pages for each of the cities where activities are planned. As more details are confirmed, we will update this information.

It’s important that our voices are heard loud and clear. The whole world is outraged and demanding Israel immediately stops it’s genocidal war against Gaza, end it’s  siege, end the occupation, stop the annexations, and release the Palestinians prisoners.

This is my letter to the Herald last week:

The brutal Israeli offensive in Gaza leaves me appalled. Over 1300 Palestinians killed so far, virtually all are civilians and worse: kids. Is this enough revenge for the killing of 3 Israeli kids that triggered off this latest offensive? Is that an appropriate, intelligent way to react in 2014 AD? Israel certainly has the right defend itself against Hamas rocket attacks; but needs to be far more discriminating. Bombing schools is just despicable. Israel (and the US) fail to comprehend that their wars fuel the growth of counter terrorism.

Israel calls for Gaza to be demilitarised. What chance would the Palestinians have then? They had 90% of the land prior to 1948, now down to 11% and that is under siege with Israeli settlements, apartheid walls, road blocks and check point controls. Is it a wonder the Palestinians try to retaliate? Both sides should be demilitarized. May tolerance, justice and peace prevail; but the latest wounds will take a generation to heal.

    Kind regards
    Steve Lincoln
