One year after Israel’s war on Gaza, the United Nations says less than one third of the donor pledges for reconstruction have been disbursed.
The UN Humanitarian Coordinator for the occupied Palestinian territory says only 28 percent of the three-point-five billion dollars pledged in 2014 has been paid. Qatar, the United States, and Turkey were the major donors at last year’s fundraising conference in Cairo.
The Israeli war last summer killed about 22-hundred Palestinians and wreaked havoc on Gaza’s already poor infrastructure. Currently, some 100-thousand Gazans remain internally displaced and much more are waiting to be reconnected to the city water supply. PressTV asked Kia Ora Gaza’s Roger Fowler to comment.
