PressTV video report, 19 October, 2015
Palestinian students from Palestine Polytechnic University have held a protest against Israel’s continued crackdown in the occupied West Bank.
The protest took place at the southern entrance to the West Bank city of al-Khalil also known as Hebron. Israeli forces opened fire and used tear gas to disperse the demonstrators, injuring several students.
Meanwhile, Israel’s cabinet has imposed more security measures to deal with the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories. The ministers widened police stop-and-frisk powers that will effectively allow them to search anyone on the streets. The upsurge in violence has left 44 Palestinians dead in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip so far this month. Several Israelis have also been killed.
