Israeli military forces have severely beaten and injured a Palestinian man before taking him into custody in the occupied West Bank.

Israeli military vehicles rolled into the Palestinian Jalazoun refugee camp, located 7 kilometers (4.3 miles) north of Ramallah, and attacked a protest in the area on Friday.

The soldiers stopped several Palestinian cars and used them as shields while firing at the Palestinian protesters. Israeli troopers also fired rubber-coated metal bullets at several cars.

Israeli forces then fired tear gas canisters to disperse the crowd.

Shadi al-Ghabbashy, one of the protesters, tried to stop the soldiers after members of his family suffered from excessive tear gas inhalation.

Scuffles consequently broke out, with Israeli troopers violently and repeatedly kicking Ghabbashy and striking him on the head with their rifle butts for around 10 minutes.

The Israeli soldiers then took him to their base in Bet El illegal settlement.

Israeli forces have on occasions raided Palestinians’ houses in the West Bank in the past recent months, and have taken away dozens of Palestinians. The detainees are transferred to Israeli prisons, where they are interrogated for weeks without being charged.

There have been numerous reports documenting the worsening health condition of several Palestinian prisoners held inside Israeli jails.

“Kill Anything”: Israeli Soldiers Say Gaza Atrocities Came from Orders for Indiscriminate Fire

http://democracynow.org – A new report based on testimonies of Israeli soldiers concludes the massive civilian death toll from last summer’s Israeli assault on Gaza resulted from a policy of indiscriminate fire.

The Israeli veterans group Breaking the Silence released testimonies of more than 60 Israeli officers and soldiers which it says illustrate a “broad ethical failure” that “comes from the top of the chain of command.” More than 2,200 Palestinians were killed in the assault, the vast majority civilians. On Israel’s side, 73 people were killed, all but six of them soldiers. During the 50-day operation, more than 20,000 Palestinian homes were destroyed, and hundreds of thousands of people are still displaced. We hear candid video testimonies from the soldiers and speak to former Israeli paratrooper Avner Gvaryahu, director of public outreach at Breaking the Silence.

Israel’s terrifying treatment of Palestinian children escalates

Report by Mona Kandil, PressTV, 29 March 2015

The unjust and terrifying treatment of Palestinian children by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank has been escalating lately. Recent videos have emerged exposing masked Israeli soldiers storming several Palestinian homes in al-Khalil at midnight, to interrogate minors as suspects for throwing stones at Israeli army.

In the recent particular attack, the Israeli soldiers only searched through the apartments’ contents and identified and photographed the minors who live there. No one was arrested. However, when children were detained in the past, they were tied and blindfolded. And of course, the journey of torture started from the moment the underage were arrested, during interrogation process and after they were held behind bars.

Every year, almost 700 Palestinian children are being put on trial in Israeli military courts and thousands others continue to face ill-treatment by the Israeli military.

Palestinian human rights organizations say the Israeli military insist on mistreating children in occupied territories, as if they are potential criminals. This is why Palestinians demand that such incidents are internationally questioned and Israeli soldiers are prosecuted.

VIDEO: Israel soldiers attack Palestinians

US peace activist Rachel Corrie was crushed to death by an Israeli military bulldozer as she tried to halt the demolition of Palestinian homes in Gaza on 16 March 2003.

A little memorial event planting olive trees for Rachel Corrie in Qaryout (Nablus) ended abruptly yesterday as Israeli soldiers attacked Palestinians preparing the food. Two were kidnapped, one of them needing medical attention …the incident was captured on amateur video.
